We spend 70% of our waking lives at work during those years. We have learned that is where every area of our lives applies - spiritual health, physical, mental, emotionally, relationally, and financially. Who we are is evident in the way we respond and relate and engage at work.

Take time to reflect who you are and the importance of having health in every area of your life.

Jesus preaches in Matthew 6 that we need to guard ourselves from worry by not treasuring things on earth. The way we look at material things - love or trusting in them - affects our level of stress and worry. Jesus teaches through a parable in Luke 16 that we are managers of the possessions we have during life. God owns everything on earth, including all we think we have. God is testing us and will ultimately reward us depending upon how we have managed what He has allowed us to "borrow" during our lifetime on earth. We will get what is truly ours when we get to heaven. It will never be passed on. God will reward us then based upon how well we have managed what He has placed in our hands during our temporary time on earth.

"Feb 28 Worship - How to Deal with How You Feel"

God gave us emotions. We are made in the image of God and He has emotions. Emotions are a gift from God, but we need to be careful to not be either overly emotional or stoic.

We need to manage our emotions. They are unreliable. We can be manipulated by others, ourselves and even Satan by our emotions. We should be motivated to manage our emotions to please God. Success in life is another reward for managing our emotions.

To manage an unwanted feeling we should do three things:

    1. Name it! Determine what our emotion is and why we are feeling that way. What is behind it?
    2. Reframe it. Rather than holding on to negative emotions we can determine to release it and learn from it and even turn it into a positive.
    3. Tame it. Learn to draw strength and wisdom from God to put negative life experiences behind us and focus on the future. Trust God to work through difficult situations in our lives to bring about good.

    "Worship Jan 24 - Read - Hear - Heed"

There is a blessing of reading, hearing, and heeding the Word of GOD! Jesus says be careful how you listen. If you genuinely listen to what GOD wants to say to you, He will give you more. If you do not listen to GOD with your heart, He will take away what you thought you knew.

If we are going to be truly transformed by the Holy Spirit, we must truly read His Word, seek to understand what GOD is saying, and be ready to apply it to our lives.

"Worship Jan 17 - How God Changes Us - Part 3"

God changes us as we follow His Word to "lay down" our old self...  our old habits that we have so accustomed to. God works through our Christian friends to help us stay the course as we are challenged with the changes Christ calls for. As we allow the TRUTH of God's Word correct  how we think we are changed from the inside out. But we must be willing to submit to His truth and begin laying aside all the "junk" food, thoughts, and attitudes that have crept into our lives. God bless you as you understand better the path of transformation.

A new year is a great time for a new you! However, we become a new person from the inside out. God wants to transform us. He even tells us to not be conformed to this world but be transformed and He tells us it is by "renewing of our mind" - Rom 12:2

However, we need to understand better how God changes us. This morning to begin the new year we dig deeper into understanding how God changes us.

Waiting is difficult to do sometimes. But scripture encourages us many times to be still and wait on God. Some were waiting in expectation for a Messiah, but most were encumbered with many other things. Bro Jeremy shares a message of the importance of waiting for Jesus as we take time to be still before Him. Pray and watch... and praying means to do more than just talk "to" God, but to actually talk "with" God. The peace we seek is in the stillness of waiting on and the expectation of hearing from God.

Luke 6 records what witnesses remembered about the Sermon on the Mount, which is recorded in its entirety in Matthew 5-7. Jesus speaks to us in the world we live in: We must take the extra effort to "dig down deep" to find our blessing, our reward, our justice and our purpose. When we allow God to be God and take on our role we will find ourselves much happier and able to "leap with joy". Enjoy!
