Worship Nov 8 What to Remember When I Pray
"Worship Nov 8 What to Remember When I Pray".

Jesus teaches His disciples to “pray in this way”. The Holy Spirit opens our eyes to understand more carefully the particular words and order that Jesus spoke what we know as “The Lord’s Prayer”. Jesus emphasizes the importance of praying to remain strong in the days leading up to His return. Five things we need to remember: our Family, our Hope, our Righteousness, our Victory, but especially our Mission. It is easy to focus on wanting God to hear every word we say, but are we just as focused on hearing every Word He is saying?

How can you trust the Lord when life is so uncertain? Psalm 37 describes the peace you can experience. Don't fret when evil seems to win. Remind yourself this is God's battle. The wicked will one day be gone. God says to focus on just doing good, trusting the Lord, and seeking for ways to delight in Him. Commit it all into His hands and rest while you are waiting on God to do what only He can do... and He will do it! The day will come when you will delight yourself in abundant prosperity! Relax.

Everyone faces difficult days in one way or another. But what can God's Word say that will help us make it through difficult times? We face chaos in our nation, our jobs, our finances, our families, our marriages, even our own personal struggles. Walk with us to a journey many years ago when a leader and a nation, faced with unsurmountable odds, learned how to make it through and not just survive, but to thrive. The lessons still speak to us today! - 2 Chronicles 20

Daniel prays repentance for the nation Israel and God responds by sending Gabriel with a message that gives Daniel understanding and insight. God has a timetable and an agenda that He is accomplishing and this gives us a greater confidence during our troubled days.

God looks past the immediate sins of the world to a time that He is going to end sin, make atonement for iniquity (through Jesus) and bring in everlasting righteousness. This provides Daniel, and our age today, a fresh new vision and perspective on all the sin and corruption in our world and nation. The greatest need today is actually for people to repent and have their sins atoned for by believing in Jesus and become prepared for the new world that is coming.

The Prophet Daniel had lived almost his entire life experiencing the judgment of God upon his nation. He had been taken captive by Babylon as a youth and was now around 87 years old. In chapter nine, King Darius is now on the throne. Babylon had now been taken captive by another empire - the Chaldeans - just as God had foretold in a dream to King Nebuchadnezzar.

Daniel turns his attention to the Word of God as spoken through Jeremiah and remembers that the 70 years of captivity will soon be over. Daniel meditates on God's Word to Jeremiah, spends time seeking God, and then begins to confess the sins of Israel against God.

Today’s message is about what we can learn, from Daniels prayer in chapter nine, about how to prepare our hearts to really pray for our nation. We must prepare our hearts to really connect with God.

Worship Aug 16 – Pursue Gentleness
"Worship Aug 16 - Pursue Gentleness".

    “you man of God… pursue… gentleness” - 1 Timothy 6:11

Gentleness is a Godly characteristic. Our Father in Heaven, the Son and the Holy Spirit all claim to be "gentle".

Gentleness is a Contrasting characteristic. We may have grown up with parents who harshly abused us verbally, but we must break this cycle and determine to become transformed.

Gentleness therefore is a Transformational characteristic. We must determine to change our trajectory and seek God's help to become transformed to become more gentle in our dealings with our family and others.

This message ends with six practical steps to becoming more gentle. However, the foundation principle is it is God's work in you as you renew your mind with the teaching of His Word. Gentleness is worth pursuing and fighting for!

Worship Aug 9 – Walking in Confidence in a Culture of Fear
"Worship Aug 9 Walking in Confidence in a Culture of Fear".
A young shepherd boy walks onto the battle field armed with a sling shot and a few rocks. But his faith in God is amazing. What led to a powerful faith that would give such confidence when it seemed all others were in fear, even the king?
We learn that boldness in faith is not automatic. It begins with a heart for God which is blessed with an anointing from God. Then the blessing of walking with God builds with a confidence that says, "the Lord who delivered me from the lion, will deliver me today". But don't miss the most important point.. it all begins with a heart for God in the solitude of your time alone with Him, whether watching sheep, on your front porch, or wherever you will find time to seek the Lord from your own heart. You Will get His attention!

Everything we have is a "trust of love" from God - an opportunity to love Him in the way that we use it.
